Wow, I just got off the phone with my 86 yr old grandparents that live on the south end of OtterTail Lake, which is 25 miles southeast of Fergus Falls. Things are terrible! You will definately need you chain saw! They said the docks are gone. Our runabout is on the lift without out the frame to the top and our fishing boat is upsidedown 10 feet up on our shoreline bank. The fishing boat lift is a bent up mess. Numerious trees are down, Balmoral golf course is destroyed. This is bad people! I am taking a college class thats in the cities thats mon-thurs, so I can't get up there to help them out. I hope I can somehow salvage things when I get there on Thursday.

Noooo! Balmoral is my favorite course to play up there. Any idea how far south it got? My aunt and uncle are just finishing up building their new cabin about 12 miles south of Balmoral. My buddy's parents are in the middle of an addition to their house on the NE side of Ottertail as well. I hope all is OK!

I talked to my aunt and uncle and their cabin is fine. My buddy's on the NE side of Ottertail just had a couple trees down, one hit the pontoon but nothing hit the house. My friend near the Pier was not so lucky however. Apparantly they need a new roof. My aunt and my cousin were up there and they went driving around the Ottertail area last evening and said it was just a mess. Another buddy now has an 8 foot hole in their yard from a tree that uprooted. It sounds real bad.

Yea, sounds like between the Pier and Balmoral got the worst of it. I guess there wasn't a dock that survived, and my runabout was one of very few that wasn't on the beach or turned over. The dock is like a pretzel and is 70 feet away from its' original place. There are only small sections still intact. My grandpa will need to purchase a new fishing boat frown.gif as the transom is partially seperated from the sides. Anyone have an idea as to how to flip over a 1000lb+ boat that won't float and get it to a landing that is 3 miles away confused.gif Several trees are down, but thats the least of our troubles right now. I will be up there on Thursday, and hopefully will be done that afternoon, so anyone who needs help up there, feel free to e-mail me.
