Pros are protection from wind and water spray. Plus you can put a top on it.

Cons are it takes up a lot of fishing room to me.

I have a 17.5' single counsel and my next boat will be a 20' with a full windshield and a top for it. Not for me as much as my wife. She hates wind, and rain even more. Both raise hell with her book reading! grin.gif

Get the full shield. The top is nice in the rain. Yes, it will take up space. Ever turned tail and headed home on a big lake with good waves and rain? If you fish LOW, Kab, Rainy, Mille Lacs, etc...it is quite nice...besides the wife/family possibility...

I bought my first new boat last year and went with the Crestliner Fishhawk SC. I don't make it up to the big water much. I mostly fish metro lakes on weekends and do a metro fishing league on Mondays. My wife and kids come out for short periods on weekends. I don't keep them out in the high wind or rain.

Anyway, I love the SC. The extra room is fantastic for fishing.

Yeah...I guess. It is really a toss up between SC and windscreen. But if you do a lot of rain, wind and like to go fast, and hate to get sunburned, then windscreen is better. But if you like the space, I guess SC really lets you do that.
