Has anyone tried the both of them and what are your comments. I'm looking for a 6lb test that will work for smallies, wallies, and crappies.

I use all of the p-line... I have CXX-X-strong on my flipping sticks and spinnerbait rods, I run the Premium on my crankbait and jig worm rods, and I have the Floroclear on my dropshot rods.

The floroclear is a bit more stiff than the premium. But it is a bit more invisiable. Depends what you are looking for. If it were me, I would go with the premium. Just because it casts a little better and a little more limp.

I have 5# p-line on my ultra-light for crappies and pannies

and this year have caught a couple 2-3# eyes and a 4# bass on this pole and line fishing for crappies with no problem at all.Very happy with it and use it on two of my ice poles.GOOD LINE

I used the 3lb flouroclear for the 1st time on my ice fishing rod this past winter and never had a tangle! This is some awesome stuff! I put 4lb on my ultralight, and 6lb on my lindy rigging and jigging rods. I can't give this stuff enough praise, it has performed excellent. I have used Trilene XL in the past, then switched to the Sensation last year which was a little better, but this stuff blows those two out of the water. The memory isn't bad, good abrasion resistance, and seems to be very strong for it's diameter. I caught a 10lb pike on the 3lb test through the ice with my drag being way too tight for the 1st initial run and it held up.

I just read my post and it sounds like im a rep for P-Line. smile.gif but seriously, I always had problems with line twist and tangles and this has made my life a lot easier, so I want to let people know about a good product. And no I am not a P-Line rep. wink.gif

Good post Fishlakeman... To be honest neither am I a rep for p-line.. I gave it a try about 5 years ago.. and have never looked back. I use floroclear(same as florocice but different package) on all my ice rods.. And use all p-line on all my mono rods. I do use quite a bit of briad too.. powerpro for that.

I switched up some of my ice rods this winter to P-Line after a number of other FM staffers (Dietz, Matt Johnson, Pete Riola, Jason Van Ert, and others) highly recommended it.

I think it was a wise decision. I used the 2lb Floroice for gills at late ice and it was a pleasure to use.

I haven't switched my open water rods but I intend on doing so to a couple.

When I need to go with a superline, PowerPro is my choice and I really don't mind Fireline either.

I switched over to P-Line about four years ago. I will not go back to another mono line. I use the Flouroclear on the vast majority of my rods. I have also used alot of the cxx but found that the flouroclear casts and lays down of the spool of baitcasters much better than cxx. Just yesterday I was fishing in the pencil weeds for crappies with 4lb. flouroclear and did not break the line once, the other two guys with me ended up switching from their ultalights to there walleye gear with 8lb "competing" line because they were sick of re-tying all of the time.

Been using Floroclear 4# for ice and open water panfish. No tangles and very strong. Great stuff. Use 8# on my walleye reels. Also use 20# as leader on my braided lines. I have been using 17# Vanish for spinner rigs but will switch the next batch to Floroclear.

I've been using P-line on my ice rods the last three winters, and have been very happy with it.

I use fireline for a backer, and P-line for a leader. I'll tie it to the fireline with a good barrel swivel or a blood knot.
