rigging a new boat

I will be picking up a new boat soon. I am looking for advice on electronics. it is a side counsole. I will be putting a bow mount on it and maybe some day a rear elec or gas tiller. I fish many species. I have a vexilar and i'm undecided if that should go on the bow or dash. I am thinking about an X15 with GPS or something like that too. any advice will be appreacited.

if you have a bow mount I would get a trolloing motor puck transducer and have your vex in the front. They are slick when trolling with a electric motor. since the give you a real time depth reading you can keep in an exact DOW. Then you can mount your other locator on your dash. That just my two cents. Really you can't go wrong with a vex in the bow or stearn of the boat. make sure you don't run your vex of your trolling battery, theres a good chance you'll get interfearance from the trolling motor.

What fun! Rigging a new boat. I have the Lowrance X-15 sonar with mapping GPS and love it. In the front I have a Minn Kota with Co-Pilot so I can run the boat from anywhere, wireless. Because I'm wireless, I was able to remove my front flasher as I can now stay on the main deck of the boat and just watch my X-15 for depth and position. No marker to attract other fishermen and no sitting up in the wind while jigging.
