Becoming an Outdoors Woman program to host ATV clinics (2005-05-31)

The Department of Natural Resources' Becoming an Outdoor Woman (BOW) program is hosting two ATV clinics for women at the Gander Mountain store in Forest Lake. The first class is Saturday, June 11, from 9 - 11:30 a.m. The second class is Wednesday, July 20, from 6:30 p.m. - 8 p.m.

Certified instructors will go over the basics of ATV operation, safety and regulations. The women will have an opportunity to ride an ATV on Gander Mountain's ATV track.

The $10 cost includes all equipment. Women can bring their own ATVs if they prefer.

Women can register by calling the DNR Information Center at (651) 296-6157 or toll free 1-888-MINNDNR (646-6367).

All BOW programs are listed on the DNR Web site at www.dnr.state.mn.us/education.

Just took my wife up to Redtop last Saturday. She didn't miss a beat... and WOW...was it busy! People around every other corner. A couple of trail sections were closed. Only got to help one guy on his Polaris that had a starter problem. All in all a good day and only a few sprinkles.
