too many bass

Been trying to catch some bluegills on several lakes in the DL area. Because of the unseasonably cold water they are in the shallow bays. The problem is I can't keep the darn bass off the line. I use ultralight tackle and the bass just tear it up. I thought maby it was because I was using a worm so I tried several other things. Heck, the bass even eat dry flys on the surface. It dosen't take many bass to turn a little balsa wood popper into mush. I'll have to switch to heavier tackle or just wait till they move on out to their usual beds. Or, maby I can find a bass recipe!

Bill, get some heavier gear and enjoy what you have found. Many of us on this part of the site would love to have your problem. Keep in mind that the fish are in shallow to spawn and will be returning to deeper water soon and will leave you alone.
