vikingmeatwad
I just have a crappy yellow suit now and want a better one. I also want a good rod for walleyes as i am still using a very old quantum combo that I've had for liek 10 yrs. I do have 2 gander mtn coupons so I would like to go there. Thanks!! 0 carlcmc
i bought a frog tog suit this spring. We were out on the lake fishing while it was pouring and i was completely comfortable in this suit. It breathes well without letting rain through.
0 Deitz Dittrich
Another vote for Frogg Toggs... I have 2 set and love them!!!As for the rod... It really depends on how you fish and how much you want to spend... I have a 7' Compre med action rod with a Shimano Straddic that I like for walleye fishing. Works as a rigging rod and a jigging rod quite well. Its a little light for pulling spinners or bigger cranks.
0 Ralph Wiggum
I got a set of Frogg Toggs last week and can't wait to give them a try. Well, I guess I'd prefer it if it didn't rain, but I'm hoping that this will be the next best thing
0 vikingmeatwad
Thanks guys, I will check out frogg toggs as they sound very nice.Would they be warm enough for the cooler weather for canada or up north for when it's colder?
0 Ralph Wiggum
Frogg Toggs are very thin, so you'd have to wear insulation under them. I think they'll be great for the summer, though.
0 davev
I have a set of Gander Mtn. Guide Series Raingear. It is best in cooler weather. Works great except if it is hot.
0 SteveWilson
I have a pair of Frog Toggs and they are fairly decent, light weight, and cheap. I find them OK for warm weather but I'm not a big fan of their cut (legs pinch on me), not bad over shorts but too restrictive when worn over a more substantial pant. My normal rain gear are from Filson, which are much better (way more $$$), have a much better fit, work well with layering, and work from somewhat warm days (80's) to fairly cold. Of course the plethora of Gortex gear is great also, at similar prices.
