another newbie turkey hunting question

Thanks for all of the replies on the blind thread. Another question, the last three nights in a row I have been out scouting and have seen turkeys each night around 7:00 pm in same location each night. I haven't had a chance to put them to bed yet but hope to tomorrow night & thurs night (my season starts friday). If they are in the same area each night (around 7:00) do you think they are roosting there? Should I set up in the morning in same area where I'm seeing them at night? Should I be out putting them to bed this close to when my season starts? Any/all advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Well they should be fairly close to where you've been seeing them. Fly up has been between 9-9:30 pm depending on the cloud cover and wind.

I'd guess anywhere from 200-400 yards from where you've seen them last. Only way to know for sure is too wait them out and either listen for them to gobble on their own or fly up. Otherwise bring an owl hooter and see if you can get a shock gobble out of them near fly up time.

Unless this is the only place you have to go - find another place to do the traditional pre-dawn morning hunt, then ...

I'd set up a blind and "ambush" this group in the evening. Light calling, maybe a few decoys. This time of the year, many gobblers / turkeys have established a well defined pattern. If they are not disturbed ... you can pattern them and .... boom.
