Quickstrike, I have fished 4 days on Lake Nipigeon in the last two years with a charter. He fishes the southeast corner of the lake and we were after lakers. He told me the big brookies and northerns are better on the western side but theres to many rocks for his boat. Were going to try it again this year on our own boat for lakers. I know the Nipigeon river gets good in Aug- Sept. Depends on rain amounts. I was there to early in july when I tried it for brookies. A friend of my just returned home from a trip on the rivers off of Nipigeon bay and he hammered the steelhead and costal brookies on the lake itself. A guy who could help you out is Darrel at Pashla lake lodge. We stay there and he is a good guy from Mn. He is more then willing to help fisherman out. I hope this helps ya a little.
