Server Maps on Search

Has anyone else used the new maps on google? How cool is that!

The maps are draggable so no reloading every time you want to move the map, find the spot you are looking for and then click the satelite link and it switches to the actual image which is also draggable. It's so cool. Find a lake switch to the image and then you can pick two points and see how far the distance is between the two.

No wonder the stock is through the roof

I've been using it to locate farm ponds that I never knew existed. Most of the owners will let you fish them if you ask.

I just tried it. Its Ok. But if you go to terraserver, the zoomed images are quit often much better. You can easily make out individual buildings. Google might do it also, but the address I tried, it wouldn't.

It also has the topographical feature that you can switch to.

Its easy to find on the web. Just type it into to your internet explorer bar, and I bet it will find it easily, being Terraserver is a collaboration of Microsoft and the USGS.

Is there one that shows the depths of lakes and little ponds like terra server and different than the dnr one and is free?

Both google and terraserver are in my favorites and are good.
