pbowhunter
I do a lot of trout fishing on the rush river. I moved up to superior for school and would like to try steelhead. I know little about how to fish for them. What are some decant rivers not to far from Superior. I have waders and dont want to big of a river. Any tips on where to go, i hear the brule is good but i heard it was kind of big. Also i mainly use spinning gear. Any tips on presentations? Thanks again

Swamp Scooter
pbowhunter,Was just up there the last two days. Good fishing is still to be had. Spinning gear does work. Try a bobber and a crawler or spawn sac. Also you can use some big flies. The fish are in the rivers. The Brule is not always easy to fish but there are lots of holes to hit. The smelt are running now so the mouths are getting packed full of natural bait. Might be a hard catch there. Amnicon and a couple of other rivers have the steelies in them. Being able to go mid week is to your advantage. Not much pressure at all. Do not be discouraged if you do not catch anything or at least not a legal one. It takes time and practice to be good at reading the waters. Water is still high but clearing.Good luck.
