Bob_D
I'm Normally a pike guy, but I just moved to a new location (VT) that has a small muskie population. This is the only river in VT with any known muskie population. It's going to be a needle in a haystack situation, but I'm very excited. I went out today and picked up a few more baits to add to the collection. I already had tons of bucktails and jerkbaits, so I figured a few of these would be good. What do you think of them? Next I'll be getting a few more topwater lures.
Quackaddict9
They'll work well but in the river? depends how big the river is (width, depth, etc.) Today I went over to the Mississippi River east of town and see if the suckers are running through yet and there were people snagging suckers as well some people caught walleyes and released them, I didnt bring a rod but I was standing on the bridge with my fishing sunglasses and Whoa! There was a 45 incher or so musky swimming and people were trying to catch them from the bridge, I thought... well okay your not going to catch it anyway. But that got me pumped!! musky fever is on me right now! cant wait!
Giant_Jackpot
They were trying to catch the muskie? If so, you should have called the TIP line and turned them in!

Giant_Jackpot
At least you gave it the thought. And now you know where one is hanging out when opener does come around!
Quackaddict9
nah I wont be fishing there on the opener because the current is fast and water is shallow and many people were snagging suckers, May 1st it will be a circus with all people spearing on the river in their waders. Will be fun to drive over and see what people get. But yeah there are a few muskies around, some have hooked them and lost or caught them. Good Luck this summer.
