Northlander
You can not purposely fish for a species not in season!
outdoor ran
Big fish there are certain lakes that have special regs that allow fishing for walleyes, bass, northerns year around but in general its panfish only right now. Bass have a catch and release season that opens on May 7 and you can't keep any till June sometime I believe. DNR really frowns on people catching fish out of season. Not sure how they would prove you were trying to catch that fish in court. Hope this helps.
