ivegottabite
Everyone has told me the north shore because it gets the most sunlight first. Also look for something with a muddy bottom also as this can raise the water temp also.
CrappieJohn
I look for water with some depth , 12-20 feet, close to a point and shallower water with a break. Even if the point is underwater but has some shallow water on it next to deep, I like it. Early fishing shouls be done looking at the deeper water as should be the early-in-the-day fishing. On clear bright days look for the fish to move into shallow water, especially if the wind has been pushing the warmer surface water into it or across it.
