Is it worth it for the money for open water fishing? Don't want to spend a lot of $$$ on a fancy camera, but the price on this one seems reasonable. Is it worth it?

It is the best $200.00 I have spent this year. You pay $100 a feature for any of the Spectral Response lighting line starting at well over $300.00. No matter what lighting you have, the increase visability is not worth the price. It would be different if you could actually see 5' farther with the better lighting.

HIp hop.. No doubt it s worth every penny.. It will work for ice fishing, but will really shine for open water as well.. I have this unit myself and use it all the time.. an awesome unit as at AWESOME price.. at prices these days it only the cost of a rod/reel combo at $200

I bought the SCOUT for this winter and love it. Will use it this summer more for looking at the bottom,for gravel sand, and weedlines along with types of fish.Great unit for the money.

I will tell you that they do work and work well! Although I haven't bought one my brother did. He instantly became my best fishing buddy. Under the right conditions that thing performed like a champ! No troubles with it either! I can't wait to see how it works on the open water.

Even though I only managed to used mine about 5 times this winter I would say it was $200 that was really well spent. Had one day where I hit the crappies and sunnies in a really finicky mood, and the camera was a really cool way to see the response to different tactics/baits.

Well worth the price!

Well, I'm convinced, it wouldn't have taken much to convince me anyway, but thats definitly now at the top of my list.
