I have an Lowrance X-15, Lowrance Electronics states that only the Hot Spots Elite or the Navionics Classic XL will work with my unit. Which one should I get? Thanks for the Help!

I have the Navionics chip in my X-15. It has been fantastic for me and gives me a LOT more confidence on the water whether its fishing or navigation. The Lowrance base map is okay but nothing compared to the detail you'll get with the chip in. Nice thing about Navionics is that they will give you a return credit so you can get the updated versions for a little less.

Lota Lota...

Diago--Check this thread out Lowrance X-15

out as I had asked the question previously. As Rick stated, you are able to run the Lake Master Pro MMC cards.

The difference between the 2 cards you are asking about is the definition and contour seperation of lakes.

Seriously think about the chip Rick is referring to---YOU'll love it over the navionics chip......depending on what kind of lakes you are on.

The LakeMaster chip is by far the BEST chip out there. I have an x-15 with the Navionics chip --- it's nothing compared to the LakeMaster I just got. Good Luck!

The Classic chip is the only one that works in the X15 due it's memory limitations. BUT if you can wait for the chip for a few weeks, hang on. I was talking to the Navionics factory rep at the sports show and he said that they are coming out with a revision around the beginning of May. Due the number of requests from X15 owners, they are changing the Classic chip and are:

- Removing IA, WI, MI lake maps from the chip

- Adding the 1' contour maps for Minnetonka, Forest, Eagle, Mille Lacs, Leech, etc that are on the Gold chip

- Keeping the price the same

So hang tight if you can and watch for the new model soon!!

(no I don't work for Navionics!)
