Tip-up?

Does anybody know right off what the regulations say about the distance away from a tip-up you can be? I couldn't get onto the DNR site, and don't have my reg book here at work.Thanks in advance....

I think it may be further than 200 ft in wisconsin im not sure but who would put there tip up 200 ft away would sure be crazy.. . they would get one good work out if it was a fast night unless they had a qaud or a snowmobile

Speaking of tip ups, this question came up while we were fishing at Red lake this past weekend. Can a person fish a tip up for crappies or is it designed just for game fish?

I don't use tip ups and would not want to explain to a conservation officer as to why I was using a tip up for pan fish but it might just be the next big thing

Yes this question has come up before, they may be used for any species, if you have on a 1/64 ounce jig and a crappie minnow you are obviously fishing crappies with that set up. Now a number 4 hook and a 3 inch shiner might be harder to explain as a crappie rig, but if your intent is crappie fishing, then yes it is totally legal to use a tip up for crappies or panfish.
