DrKen
Read your post and took a day to think about it. IMHO, it probably won't work well. Ham is already cooked by the curing process and all you really do when we "cook" it is reheat the ham. Deep frying a whole ham would probably result in a blackened outside long before the inside is warmed. For a change, try putting your ham on the weber under indirect heat until it hits eating temp(about 140 or better). Hoo Boy is that ever good. Hope this helps. MNmikew
Yes, I would think with the water content of a ham it would not like the hot oil too much. I usually do my hams in a Brinkman smoker. They turn out fantastic!
BLACKJACK
I like your ideas about the ham on the grill! Why didn't I think of that? I bought a 1/2 ham when they were on sale over Easter, its in the freezer, when I get tired of burger/chicken/venison on the grill, I'll try the ham on the grill! Kidd
Black Jack, if you do grill the Ham, try to get you hands on some apple wood, it really improves the flavor.
BLACKJACK
Kidd, can do. I have some apple trees that are in need of trimming.
