Bait shop in the Hinckley Area...

Howdy All...

I'm to meet someone in Hinkley tomorrow and need to nail down a place. Last time I fished Grindstone, I stopped at a sport/bait shop east of 35, kind of behind the Casino... Near a Dairy Queen if I remember right...

Does anyone know if it's still there and if so, what's the name?

OR... Dose anyone know of a good meeting place, real close to 35?

How about Toby's? It's a great place to pick up a killer cinnamon roll before you hit the ice. It's just to right of the Hinkley exit.

Toby's? That's right off 35, east side isn't it? Unfortunately, the roll would be for the drive home. This trip is strictly business, no ice time for me this time around.

Fish Lake bait at the Harris exit(35) has great quality bait and a good shop to boot.. highly recommend them.. They are on the east side of 35 and a reasonable stop for a hinkley outing.

I know of Fish Lake Bait. Been there quite a few times. But I told this party I'd meet them in Hinckley...

There is not a bait shop in Hinckley anymore. You can get bait at the gas station on the SW corner of I-35 and Hwy 48 (opposite side of the interstate from Tobies), I think it is a Mobil Station. The only other place real close would be Pine City, Rush Creek Outfitters, but that is downtown, off of the interstate. These are the only places that I know of anyway. Hope it helps.

Wow!! I was WAY off!! The place I was looking for was not even close to the casino... However, I did find the D.Q. The ex-bait shop is now a wood sculpture/gift shop.

Thanks for all the help finding bait in the area, however, I was only up there to meet the gentleman who bought my trolling motor from the "For Sale" forum. He drove down from Duluth and I met him at the "half way" point in Hinckley. I wish I would have brought some ice tackle with... It would have been a great day to be out fishing!
