andy j
slow rolled spinnerbait on the outer weed edges, if it is earlier or later in the year don't be afraid to try shallower.
fishingmike0770
Spinnerbaits are a very versatile bait that can be thrown alot. Stay tight to weed edges as pike constantly patrol them for prey. Dont be afraid to try different colors either. If your tired of throwing spinnerbaits, try bucktails also. Tandem blades put out a lot of flash to pick up their eyes. Experimenting is always a good thing.

fishingmike0770
Quote: i would use a pig jr smallmouth color. Its made by Odyssey Lures. Your best bet would be to contact them directly during the day seeing as this is not a very popular color in the stores but it works great! monster pike
where can i find a pig jr. smallmouth color jig in the metro area thanks for feedback
fishkid
i used to work they and they dont really sell too many of that color just cause most stores dont buy them. So your best bet would be to call the company Odyssey Lures and ask for pig jr smallmouth. I have also had good luck with the jr pig walleye color. Go to the odyssey lure's HSOforum and they have their number and every thing.
fishingmike0770
I was able to work there over the summer with fishkid. Great people and great baits. The man that you want to talk to is Thor Pearson, he is the owner. He takes care of all marketing. I was able to throw a Hot Frog pig jr right alongside fishkid's smallmouth and we both caught our fair share of pike. They offer many other colors too. Take a look at the HSOforum at odyssey lures dot com.
Muskydanno
Gotta go with a bionic bucktail here boys. Hair pin style in a cisco pattern absolutely rocks in Canada or anywhere the fish are present for that matter. We use them north of the border by Sioux lookout and just hammer the big northerns up to 40 inches up there. Same thing on big pike waters down here. Leech , Mille lacs can't count the number of big Pike i've caught on that bait. Add a trailer to it also.
