Just took delivery on my first true "bass boat". 2005 17.5 ft Nitro with a 115hp mercury. bright bright red with some white and black trim, kinda a pumkin colored carpet

just beautiful, I'm just filled with joy

hee, hee

what a nice toy!

I used to fish out of a john boat I tossed in the back of a 61 Chev pickup. Then I had a v botttom basstracker in the 80's, then an allumacraft the last 10 yrs

now I got a sexy fiberglass bassboat with a steering wheel an everythin,

dang I can't hardly think of puttin it in dirty ole lake water

maybe I'll just sit in it somemore, out in the garage, and then buy the old tin boat back for fishin

nahhhhhhhhhhhh, I just need some softwater

yea hah! I could do an Iaconelli!

If ya see me on the lakes, I'll be the one with the big shXt-eatinnn grin

Though I am not a bass boat owner (because I am not responsible enough to own glass), I will admit that a grin still does strike my face when the powerband winds up on big motor as a bass boat planes out. Congrats on your new family member! Maybe you'll end up like the wheelhand of the Evinrude commercial who sheds all his clothes going across the lake. You don't wear a pink squirrel pouch thong, do you? grin.gif

I know the feeling, I got a 370 Ranger yesterday that I put in the garage last night! Going from a 16' lund with a 25 horse to a 18' Ranger with a 150, should be a little more stable and get a couple more mph out of it!!! Congrats on your new boat! grin.gif

just an extra bit of advice! just like being a first time father you will need to learn how to handle, control and most definitely have respect for horse power these new babies have! and yes, the power,& speed and is a rush ! the stability is great! grin.gif del

hey, ray, no red "squirrel thing" for this guy. Ya gotta have at least 200 hp to need one a those. I'll just go with my boxers.

I know what ya mean about not responsible enough for glass. I sure never worried about it with my aluminum boats. My old Basstracker was so beat up, if somebody would bump it at the dock I'd say, "hey watch out...you might get some paint on it!"

Sometimes they'd take me serious like I cared they bumped the old boat.

We'll have to expand a thread to boat maintenance and get on top of this stuff.

I plan to take a couple old towels along and wipe it good everytime I pull it out of the water. Keep down the waterspots. The seats are nice, anybody know if something like Armourall or something is good for these seats to keep them from drying out.

1 month to iceout?

beef. rangert recommends not to use armoral on the seats. not sure why. i did find out not to use it cause the seats will be slippery. blush.gif in ruff water it was hard to stay behind the wheel. grin.gif
