What knot to attach new line to the spool

I'm starting think about re-spooling for the new year and I'm wondering what knot you guys tie to attach your line to the spool. In the past, I've tied everything from the overhand knot to whatever thinking that it shouldn't matter too much since I've never had a fish pull off enough line to get down to the bare spool.

Thanks,

If I'm tying mono I use a slip knot. I've been doing that for 40 plus years and have not been spooled yet. If I'm spooling braid to a wiffle spool, then I tie direct with a over hand knot, if it's a solid spool, then I do a mono backing (20 to 30 feet) and use a uni-knot to connect the mono to braid. I have been using fishing glue on the uni-knot, after I clip the tag ends, this works to strenghten the knot and hold the tag ends tight against the main lines.
