Lund boat part question

I have a 1997 lund pro V and the plexiglass that covers the electronics compartment cracked. I am told that the part would cost me 75$. Is this a special kind of glass or would it work to just make one out of regular plexi glass that i can buy uptown for 10$

Go to the hardware store and look or ask for Lexan or polycarbonate sheet. Virtually unbreakeable. comes in clear or smoke.

Kevfish, Have you got a glass company near ya? Take the frame or the whole boat to them and have 'em make a replacement out of Lexan. That stuff is awesome! I had back-trolling splash guards BENT for me about 7 years ago and they still look like new. They might be a little spendy at first, but will out-last plexiglas about 5 to 1 (or better). I had a Yellow Lab that would use the splash guard as a spring board! The Lexan didn't seem to mind, so I learned not to......too!
