tonyjor
It was a great time. Even though I didn't ice a cat, I still had a blast. Thanks to the members for showing me a few tactics. I'll be trying to ice a cat in the future now that I know they taste so good. Sorry you got skunked Dennis, hope you caught a few after the event. See you all next year! Borch
It was agreat time! The catfishing was slow. But that was secondary for me anyways. Got to put a lot of faces with the names and do some serious story telling. Although that sneaky Capt. BRK snuck out before I got a chance to touch base with him. Thanks Dennis and everyone else who worked hard on setting this up. Borch
hanson
Borch- BRK was sneaky wasn't he?? Funny how he showed up for the food and then disappeared into the distance as quickly as he showed up.

Dennis Steele
Ya what happened to BRK?! One minute he's there the next minute he's gone! Oh well when a guy isn't around, you can say things about him and he can't defend himself!
Captain B.R.K
Funny guy you are Hanson I was around, just so many people to talk to, not enough time! What a great time- Dennis wonderful job on the fish fry! Those cats were wonderful. I only had a few pieces as I felt bad not bringing anything else to share than a limit of catfish fingers. The bites I had------FANTASTIC---great job and good work with the event!!! Sorry I snook away from everyone.....didn't have a very successful morning, so I had to get after some cats. Don't get a lot of time to be on the ice, so I took advantage of the opportunity For those that missed out, book it on your calendar for next year as the Cool Cat's 2005 eventwas a blast!!! Captain B.R.K
Tried the same area we were in last weekend.....I ended up catching a dozen cats, all in that 2-3 lb range. As soon as I set up, I slammed 7 cats out of one hole! Slow for A few hours in the afternoon and then I caught 5 more a little later, just before sun down.Just a beautiful day out there! To bad I was out there today (57 degrees and clear skies). Tripleplay
BRK,Now that I've seen the pictures you posted I realized that I met you just not introduced. My son and I were the late arrivals to your second spot in the afternoon. We didn't manage a cat (darn walleye though!) but had a bit more excitement with a couple on the flasher for my son but couldn't seal the deal. I also had one I pulled off of the bottom but couldn't get the bite. Oh well---means we'll be there next year for sure. (also got to watch bklimek's back as he was setting the hook at least 3-4 times there for that short stretch)Just might be an experience that I'll try next winter earlier than Cool Cats if I can convince Hanson or others to let myself/possibly son tag along. Thanks everybody for the good food and great talk'ing. hanson
Tripleplay-Stay in touch buddy. I'll definitely invite you a long on a trip next winter. I'm done with the cats for this winter now. Wish I could have helped get your son on one of those cats. They are a lot of fun. One I caught that evening almost pulled the rod out of my left hand while I was jigging. (I'm not a lefty so he caught me off guard)
Tripleplay
Thanks Chris I'll/we'll definitely take you up on that one. Funny about how hard that one cat hit of yours, that 'eye I caught about pulled me and rod right through the hole! I thought he was on to my sons presentation as everytime he lifted that Go Devil that fish raised (three times) but wouldn't bite. I was coaching him on jigging his rod and watching his bobber rod when I raised my rod with an Angel Eye when I leaned over and--boom, totally caught me by surprise. First fish on an Angel Eye, but won't be my last as I'm getting more confidence in jigging. He'll get one next year, I have no doubts. For 12 years old, he is one focused fisherman and he doesn't get bored so he'll stick with it untill he gets one. See you on Saturday if you are still hitting the Medicine cleanup and panfish bonanza!
