Soon the frozen water will be open, or at least I am hopin'

Can't wait to make that first cast, tossin that jig and hearing the splash

A five pound bass sees it hit the water, now the season is getting hotter

She will pick up that jig run and jump, can't you feel your heart pump

As I remove the hook and let her go, c'mon warm weather melt the snow!

I hate to even post this.. but it could be 90 degrees for a months traight and melt all the ice by next week and bass season will still not open any sooner!

Good Point, but if the snow was all gone maybe a guy would not look as fooloish as standing in the yard on a snowbank practicing up on pitching and flipping skills?

I really enjoy the pre-bass season for catching gills and crappies. You can really hone your jigging skills by fishing small panfish jigs without a bobber.

Bring on the 90 degree days! Iowa is only 2 hours away and the bass season is open year round.

Remember that the bass season is open year round on the river. come join us for the 1st Annual Bass Shakes Open, some time around mid-april, in beautiful Winona, Minnesota.

the river is already open, it has been for almost a month. we just need the shoreline near the landings and the backwaters to thaw, should be about 3 weeks.

March 24th, 2004 I put the Ranger in for the first time last year on the Ottertail river in Fergus. So there is still hope... but, it was minus 2 here in Alex, when I got up this morning.
