License Question?

Can a person be out in a fish house or portable, and not have a license as long as they're not fishing? The wife wants to come with this weekend, but doesn't want to fish, and I really can't find an answer in the regulations.

Mntka, yes she can be with as long as you only have two lines in the water (yours). To easier prove that she is not fishing, I would only have two rods in the ice house at any given time, and make sure that neither of them look like she's using it. In other words, keep the rods close to you to make sure the CO can plainly see that she is there for company and not fishing.

I have had friends with me that were not licensed and also not fishing and been checked by the GW and not had a problem.

Mnkta-I believe the law reads, that they can be there, but are not allowed to help take the fish in any way.. another words she is not allowed to have a rod down.. she is not allowed to net your fish. But is allowed to go with and enjoy her time on the water!
