Stren Super Braid

Has anyone tried this stuff before? I just bought a new rod and reel im going to use when I troll for walleyes with shad raps. I liked this stuff more than fireline because it is really limp. Also, It is 20 lbs. test but the same diameter as 6 lbs. mono.

Any comments will be appreciated

I have the stren super spooled on one of my reels and I like it well enough.

I have not used it for trolling, although I am sure it would be fine in that application.

I use the 10/2, and mostly use it jigworming. The sensitivity is great for feeling the bottom structure as well as any fish that may happen upon my presentation.

I know many anglers use Power-Pro, but I have no complaints with the Stren.

I quit using super braid that is 20# test, 6# dia., went to 50# test, because when you set the hook it pulled the line into the other line on the spool and you were set up for a backlash next time you cast. just my observation on using this superbraid. I though when I bought it this was the way to go.

Used it on one rod last summer. Owrked fine. I troll with braid all the time mostly Power Pro. I agree with using heavier weight line if you plan on casting - the 10lb stuff loves to bury into itself. Stren is supposed to be "round" and therefore less prone to bury. I didn't cast that much with it but it seemed to work fine. One tip - use flourocarbon leaders in clear water. Tie directly to the braid. Don't give up any sensitivity and fish can't see the line.
