mono/flouro leader with fireline?

Gonna fish LOTW and have most my ice poles rigged with fireline, curious if I should rig a mono or flourocarbon leader or if its not necessary there.

I always tie a mono shocker leader onto my Fireline or Power Pro Icefishing. Usually Vanish. On LOW you can usually get away with 6# but I like 8# when I run a bit heavier spoon or swimming bait. Make sure to bring some Chubby Darters, JR's Flasher spoons, bare hooks, Gold jigs, Rapala Rattle Spoons and your other usual eye tackle. Dont be afraid to go small. At times downsizing is the only way to get them to bite. Most often though its not That hard.

Cooter, I myself pretty much stick with mono for icefishing but.... widetrack uses fireline exclusivly up here [LOTW] with no mono/floro leader and he catches plenty of fish and plenty of big ones.

I just direct tie my Fireline to the lure. Been using 4lb Fireline for 5-6 years up there and on Red. If it is causing me to miss a fish or two, it hasn't been a big deal.
