Adding weight to a Reef Hawg

Scoot

Recommended Posts

I've got an 8" Reef Hawg that I'd like to add weight to. Obviously, it's a floating model now, but I would like to add enough weight to make it sink very slowly. I'm going to use the Dick Pearson method of adding a jig just behind the front treble hook. How big should the jig I use be?

I have had good luck using the screw in wieghts on these. I know that people also drill a hole and pound a sinker in and seal it. I would think that a jig on a jerk or glide bait would mess with the action, but have never tried that.
