Brook trout

I am looking to target some brook trout in the next few weeks and was wondering if anyone had some general or specific advice for me. How do they relate in the water column, what depths are best, what are the best times of day and of the year, what are the most effective baits and color, and any other pointers you could share. Also, aside from flyfishing, what spring and summer presentations work the best in a small pond or lake. Thanks in advance.

Hey MrSenarighi, check this out. It should answer all of the questions you asked. Winter trout fishing

As far as fishing for stream trout during the summer. I've found it very hard to beat a white or pink 1/16oz jig head with a 2 inch white twister on. Rainbows and Brookies love a jig and twister. Hold on tight because they slam it!

I can appreciate the humor, consequently I am a bit of a smarta$$ myself. Are you going Looper fishing this weekend Porter? I am not sure if we have met yet, but I will be on the East side of the French Sat. & probably Sun. Stop by and say hi if you are there, I will have a black MN Twins winter hat on.

we were there for a little bit on sunday, and deepdiver lost a nice one. Casaloma put a pretty female on the beach as well, and some other fella caught a nice coho. I've got some sorta weird curse when it comes to shore fishing though, i've been out at least thirty times over the last year or so, and i just can't get one from shore. Those slimy buggers better watch it when they get into the rivers though, i've got no problem hooking into 'em there grin.gif Keep posting up, i'll probably kill a few more hours shore fishing before the rivers get going, and we'll probably run into eachother somewhere along the line.
