CSP88
Is there much difference between the new Otters that come with this and the older models? Thanks, Chad
0 marine_man
The new otters have square tubing, as compared to the round tubing that they used to have (about 2 years ago they started with the square tubing if I remember correctly...)The square tubing is substantially stronger than the round was, and is less susceptible to bending when collapsing the poles, or when it's windy out.marine_man
0 CSP88
Thanks MM, I know last years model has the square tubing but not the ultra-glide system, I'm wondering if the Ultra-glide is all that its cracked up to be.
0 kslipsinker
TO answer your question, yes it is all is cracked up to be. They added plastic plugs in the smaller tubes that fit into the larger tubes to give them a better sliding action. Last year the tubes were a real problem with many that did not slide for a variety of reasons. Otter came up with a very good solution to the problem. Last year I couldn't recommend Otter for all of the problems, but this year it is worth it if you like the brand.
