aquafang
Funny, A buddy and myself are thinking about heading to Drywood after we hit Pickeral in the morning. then if that don't pan out, South buffalo is our next thought.I drive a green and gold '94 sub and my buddy has a charcoal '00 chevy ext. cab. We both have one man fish traps and two man shacks. Not sure which one I am bringing.

PERCHJR
Hey aqua and Duck, we never did fish Buffalo or Drywood, we ended up fishing Enemy on saturday morning and we caught 1 perch and 1 gill and that was it. We fished Waubay, up by Grenville, saturday afternoon and caught about 20 perch but nothing great. On sunday we fished Waubay again in the morning, and caught about 10 perch, in the afternoon we headed to Pickerel for some crappies and eyes and ended up catching at least 50 perch, which really surprised us, I have no clue where we really fished, only way to find it will be with the GPS all I can say is it was in 32' of water up on the northern end!!! GOOD LUCK AND GOOD FISHING!!!
Muskeez
Are the perch on Pickerel decent sized? Did you get any Crappies? Thanks for any reports.
iceguy70
I did the exact same thing as you did last year. I had just got done catching a limit of perch on waubay and sat down in the same hole as you were on up on the north side. If you look on the lake map you can see where the hole is. I caught a bunch of perch just like you did and only caught one crappie that was about ten inches.
Dingo
I have fished that area on Pickeral also, where you got the perch but the size was towards the bottom size of keepable. How was the size of the ones you got?
PERCHJR
Hey Musk, the perch are ok in size average from 8" to 11" nothing to great, a guy had to sort through alot to get your limit!!! We never caught any crappies, we went there for them but when the perch started to bite we completely forgot about the crappies!!! GOOD LUCK AND GOOD FISHING!!! aquafang
Perchjr.--We didn't either. We went to Drywood and talked to a kid who lives right there by where everyone accesses the lake. He said no one was catching anything this year. Plus, it was foggy and didn't want to drive on a lake that we'd never been on before. We were out from grenville sat afternoon also. Had to leave at 4:00 so I missed the bite. only ended up with 3 perch. Went back for the afternoon bite on sunday and hammered them.
PERCHJR
Hey Fang, we also talked to a local farmer that was fishing Drywood on saturday and he said the same thing they have caught pretty much nothing there all year. He thinks that the GF&P netted the perch out this summer, he told us that they did see GF&P boats on there this summer so maybe the lake is empty!!! GOOD LUCK AND GOOD FISHING!!! iceguy70
Went to South Buffalo yesterday and did not have any luck. I mostly fished around the island strait out from boat ramp and did not see one bluegill on the camera. I also fished all around the submerged island off the bigger point, still did not mark a fish. At 1:00, I left for Waubay and got skunked there too. Worst day I have ever had on waubay in three years.
