I use my FL-18 on the bow. No need to tell me if there are fish or not. I'm more interested in keeping peace with the break line or hovering in a certain depth.

I have an X-75 on my bow. Some people like flashers because they are instant. I like an LCD because they are not. If you take your eye off your flasher for a split second, you may miss somthing important. A LCD allows me some slack.

Flashers are great if you do a lot of vertical jigging. Most of my fishing from the bow is casting the shallows. So I basically just need the depth.

Everyone fishes differant I guess.
