Dan Thiem
Try checking with your local bait shop. They may have some exchange blades already sharpend. I've seen them for around eight bucks. Be very carefull when changing auger blades. When those rusty screws break loose and your fingers go sliding across those new blades it gets kind of messy. Not that it's ever happend to me. cloudfisher
Pick up one of those blue plastic handled Lazer auger sharpeners. I've got one that I use for my Mora auger before each trip. Couple of swipes over the blades and they're like new. Cost around 8 bucks.
hip_hop_fisherman
Most of the baitshops that carry the blades will allow you to bring in your old ones for a discount. This has always been easiest for me, since from what I've heard you need a pretty precise angle for it to cut right. Definitly worth a few bucks to go buy them then try it yourself only to get to the lake and find you can't fish.
eurolarva
New blades are only 16 dollars. Seems like when I get blades from the bait store one or more holes are stripped and I cant tighten the blades enough. It is best to keep a spare set in the tackle box along with an allen wrench.
