Carp-fisher
My brother and I are thinking about fishing Courthouse pond in Chaska tommorrow. Anyone else going out?
-Marc V-
I'm headed out. Even though I can't find anyone to come with because of the cold. I've never ice fished trout before, but I got a lot of knowledge off this site. Hopefully something will move. For some reason it's always bothered me to let the weather detour my plans. Plus I get ornery if I don't get my weekend fishing in.

Carp-fisher
Has anyone tried ice fishing for trout at Courthouse pond? I fellow I work with does it every year and he says he always catches some--usually on Swedish Pimple like lures.
The Grebe
Trout Opener? No thank you! Last year we hit a popular trout pond on the opener and it was a sight to see! There must have been 500 portables on the little pond and 500 people that came without shelters...I thought the ice would give way from all the drilling! We never ventured out, we came back during the week and had a hell of a good time catching trout, not "Boom, boom, boom" like on first days, but one now and then, to give a body some fishing time and occasionally a nice surprise. Carp-fisher
Yeah I've heard trout opener can be absolutely insane. But then again tommorrow is going to be so cold that only the died in the wool will be out--so maybe the pond won't be too crowded. Any advice for catching stocked winter trout?
