Coleman Powermate 1850 Watt

I'm considering buying a Coleman Powermate 1850 watt generator and I'm looking for some help if anyone has one or used one.

My main concern is noise, the Honda 2000K is quiet and very dependable, but it's also twice the cost as the Coleman.

How noisy are they??

Are the reliable??

I would go with the honda best money i've ever spent I would'nt go up north with out mine.

My dad has a Coleman Powermate. Im not sure on the wattage but he just got his about 2 weeks ago.

It works great for charging up the batteries in the house and watchig TV.

But the only thing I do not like is its kind of loud. Its definitly not like a Honda. We put it in the back of the surburban and only keep one door partially open. That lowers the sound some but its still loud enough (for me atleast). I can run my Honda Civic Car and thats 10x quieter than the Coleman. But it just doesnt give out as much power as it.

PP, I dont know alot about the coleman but I have a Honda that I use 5 days a week. Not only is it quiet it started today on the first pull and it is lite, the guys on my crew can handle it by themselves. Knowing what the Honda goes through every day there would be no doubt which one I would buy.

I have this model & I've been very pleased with it, it isn't all that loud! for the money- how do you compare it with honda? sure they are quiet --but you don't run it all 24 hrs of the day,

I noticed that they never stated what the noise DB level was like they do with the Honda, not that an insulated box covering the Coleman would hurt, gives me more to think about.
