Hemlock
Knoppers, we do have a fair bit of snow, but it certainly is not "chest deep". I was out yesterday in a pick up on Lake of the Woods up here around Kenora. We ventured off the ice road to get to where we needed to be and the 4 wheel drive S-10 did just fine. I would say there's about 18 inches on the lake. Alot of it has blown away, it was just too powdery. Slush, yup it's out there. We hit slush twice. Both times, the pick up broke through the crust and fell about 6" (The feeling gets your attention) Stuck and had to shovel once, the other we kept on trucking. Sleds I think will be fine. Maybe the lesser power sleds shouldn't lead and if the leader finds slush, then go wide around it. That's what we have done in the past.
Mad Mulcher
Hemlock-Are you fishing walleyes on lotw by Kenora this time of year?
Hemlock
Mad Mulcher,Yes, I am fishing walleye's around Kenora. Fishing was fantastic in early January and has slowed down some, but will bounce back. I probably haven't moved around enough to find them (been fishing with three year old son) It's very convienient. There are enough ice roads (no charge), you can fish in a lot of different areas just from the truck. We broke off the ice road Monday and went all over the place. This is nice to do when the ice and snow conditions allow.
