I have a polaris 500ho. the only issues i have even had is the batt. freezing (woods -40) but thats ok because the pull start always works. i have seen the new v-twin polaris sitting in the garage at my house because it will not start. its my buddies and he is always fixing something on that thing. we all told him not to get the new fancy model and look what happens - he is always lookin for a ride. thing has been in two winters and will not start on the cold days.

I got a 2004 Honda Rancher 4x4 and this thing has never failed me. Even after it has sat in the cold garage for a couple weeks. Starts right up. It has done a great job pulling out friends permanets and pulls the clam with all the gear. It is only a 350 but I am very happy with it and Honda run forever !!!!!! Just my 2 cents. Try larsons in cambridge they gave me a price so cheap no one local would touch it

I have a Polaris 600 sportsman and it is great in all weather conditions. I haven't had any problems. Even started after sitting for over a month in the cold without any problems. The fuel injected models are supposed to work even better. I think the polaris sportsman lineup are great all around machines, but thats just my 2cents.

I'm a long time Arctic Cat sled guy, but the Polaris is the machine for me in an ATV. Sportsman 500 HO D.U.S.E. Starts but all those small batteries are suspect. I've pull started it without trouble when the battery gave up.

Yamaha,Honda,Kawasaki, and Suzuki generally keep there quads to 604 lbs. or under.Polaris and Arctic Cat,tend to be the heavier machines (especially Polaris).Weight can help for work and hurt in the handling dept. and if you get stuck they are harder to get out.A good all around quad,(in my opinion)would be a Yamaha Kodiak 450 or a Bombardier Outlander 330 or 400.I do not mention the Kodiak 400 because the newer models do not have a low range.
