lucky7
Mik:When there is water there are some great Northerns there. I have heard a "myth' that if a guy had taken his Northern to an official scale earlier he would have the state record. Just a story at this time. Mikinaak
i thought the world record walleye was 25lbs. caught in 1960 in tennesse.
John19
That may be, this is the record for Saskatchewan. I don't know what the world record is.
Dan DAN the fisherman
Colorado's state record is bigger than that! Out of Standley. But its still a monster!
Don In Denver
Quote: i thought the world record walleye was 25lbs. caught in 1960 in tennesse. Nope. That supposed "record" was debunked in the last few years. The recognized world record walleye is 22 lb. 11 oz. from Grear's Ferry, Arkansas, caught in 1982. Dan DAN the fisherman
I think your correct on the World Record. We are talking about Provincial & State records. Dan
Mikinaak
Man, you guys get hung up on details! loosen up. I heard there is was a 46lb. walleye caught off Washington coast but because it was caught in saltwater they don't even have a catagory for it. But, here is a web site I have found, I'm not sure when it gets updated! http://www.schoolofflyfishing.com/resources/worldfreshrecords.htm Mikinaak

Don In Denver
Sorry Mikanaak-Sanchez sits at approx. 8000 feet, so no live minnows for bait.
lucky7
Mik:You can dead stick a dead sucker with a quick set rig. I was also told that you can use a dead perch(many in the lake) because they are not considered a game fish.
John19
REALLY??????? That's kindof amazing, I wonder they are considered?

Don In Denver
Quote:Mik:I was also told that you can use a dead perch(many in the lake) because they are not considered a game fish. Actually the 2005 Colorado regulations define "game fish" as including yellow perch (p.6), but another section of the regulations lists yellow perch as one of the species of fish that may be used as bait (p. 8). So, yes, you can use dead perch for bait in Sanchez.
