Subject: Sad story....chilling reminder

Caught wind of this story in the shop...confirmed in the press this evening. A truck went through the narrows on Pelican Lake near Ashby. Divers recovered the body this afternoon.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to this young angler's family.

Please let this a be a reminder to treat all ice with caution...it's never safe...

know the lakes your traveling on, beware of pressure ridges, heaves, springs.

and be sure to let someone know where you are....fish with a buddy even.

Please be careful out there....

Truely a tragedy. Only 25 years old. Still so young.

I have never been in this area before. Can anyone tell me, is this "narrows" marked in any way. Or has it been a problem with dangerous ice before?

My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

That is tragic! I graduated from high school in Brandon in '96 and knew him. Just goes to show never to trust ice. The narrows on Pelican is some of the first water to freeze in the area. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Elmer family. frown.gif

I lost my only brother 2 years ago to a snowmobile accident, and everytime I hear these tragic stories it tears me up. So very sad.

Godspeed to him, and healing grace to his family.
