Hondex Fl-8??? Same as Vexilar???

I am looking at buying a flasher that looks just like a vexilar fl8 and it's called a "Hondex Fl-8", I'm told that vexilar bought out Hondex. Is this true? Either way, is this flasher as good as the vexilar fl8? In a soft pack what would you say something like this is worth? How about interference with other flashers, is this one vulnerable in comparison to others? It has a 19 degree ducer. New to this hi-tec ice fishing, so any help appreciated! Happy fishing. ScottW

My first fl 8 was a Hondex. Yes they are the same (as far as functions) but the Hondex is old, old components. I wouldn't give very much for it.

It won't have the Interference Reduction (IR), for that reason I would pass.

When you guys tell me to avoid it, that makes me nervous...but, I can't afford anything more. Can barely afford this if I can jew the guy down some. I had an old green box lowrance that I used before, and I figure this has to be an upgrade from that, especially since that's broken now! When you's say you woudln't pay much for it, how much would that be? And it comes with the softpack setup and battery. Thanks again. Happy fishing. ScottW

scott these guy's that say that this unit isn't as good as the other the new units they'er right but, i have the same unit as what your looking to buy & i've been able to get on fish as easy as the guy that buy's 400$ unit --i'd offer the guy 125,00 you'd be fine
