fish trap fish house

Question

My brother pulled an old fish trap style fish house out of an old grove of trees at his friends place. It needs some work. He said he can fix the poles himself but would need to buy a canvas for it. He was wondering where he could pick one up at, and how much it would cost. He is located in St. Peter so is there someplace a reasonable distance from there.

Has he checked Canvas Craft in Anoka? I know that they do custom boat covers and make their own portables. Maybe they can do the Fish Trap for him.

Otherwise, maybe he could try contacting Clam Corp. I mean, they're in Plymouth, right? Maybe they've got some old canvas that he could buy...

I don't know about the prices in your area, but here in Thief River Falls you could have one made for it for around $150.00. Not bad if you ask me, probably cheaper to have someone make it, than to buy one from Clam.

Just what I think....Good Luck.

if you check the clam sight for replacement tents they list from $95 for the scout to $159 for the voyager. not sure on shipping prices, if you could pick one up instead of having it shiped that would be even better.

I would have one made. I have 2 fish traps and when I replace the canvas, I figure that I will do white tops and dark sides. The light top will make it brighter in the daylight and the darksides should absorb some solar radiation.
