Finlander
Crow decoys would be a great addition off to the side of your spread! I once located a big flock of Canada geese by the wings flapping of crows that were not too far from them. Got permission to hunt that field and banged them on the early goose opener. Never would have seen those geese if it was'nt for the crows out there. Even the guys with me thought I was nuts when I said to back up and check that field out because they only saw the crows. Took the binoc's out and there they were, about 200 Canada's just beyond the crows. You could even take crow decoys with there pointed plastic stakes and put the stake into a spring and the other end into a stake and attach a string to the beek so you can make the crow decoy look like its pecking at the ground eating something! Really fools the birds!
big drift
Try using a black permanent marker on your shell brass. just write down the shot size, started doing this because the writing from the factory seems to wear off.
JerknPerchSD
To solve any full body problems, buy Hardcores instead of averys, bf's, ect. My hardcores I bought new this fall still look amazing. Yes you gotta be a little carefull with how you trailer them, but the results are worth the little extra work. The motion stand they come with lokks awesome on a windy day and as a 1 piece decoy there is no chance of feet/heads breaking off, JMOAndy
MattKeller
Andy. I'm sure we'd all buy hardcores if we were all rich college kids If you're telling me you can't kill limits everyday over foots or even shells for that matter than save your breath... HC's are nice. They look great. But that was more of a sales pitch for HC than a tip IMO.
JerknPerchSD
I wasnt saying you cant kill birds with Averys or BF's. I was saying you dont have to worry about foot bases breaking, necks breaking, stuff like that. Trust me, I got suckered into the whole Greenheadgear thing. I bought 7 dozen of the things this fall and regret it all the time. The bottom of my trailer looks like an avery graveyard...lol. They still kill geese, if they make it to the field. BF by far is still the most durable decoy on the planet, but the shape is outdated. If they came out with a new design and the same plastic, I'd be sold. I wasnt trying to sell HC's, but after seeing the results I truly believe it is the best decoy on the market. Landing flocks of 200+ birds in the pocket in January says somthing big. I didnt mean to offend anyone, please don't take it that way. Im not here to bash other peoples decoys, or BF's. I'll bash an Avery anytime, those things are junk! My tip...Don't get suckered into the Full body Avery, unless they make some huge changes for '05 Andy

jblabsnduck
I have never broke a BIG FOOT.Tip: this is for snow goose hunters. Let all your flags and socks get a little muddy. It seems to help but not sure why.

jblabsnduck
Avery will never get any of my money again.
JerknPerchSD
You probably broke the old hardcores (pre '04) The old plastic was very brittle, especially in cold temps. You couldnt break a new hardcore (we tried running one over with a car)The new plastic is awesome. I still doubt you broke more HC's than Averys. Just unloading some out of the trailer 2 weekends ago we broke 7 in 2 days. (averys that is)Andy
