toolgarage
Building a 6x14' trailered house, and I'm planning a 12V electrical system in it. Lights, Atwood furnace, etc. My question is - What type of 12V battery works best for this type of application? Standard car battery, or a deep-cycle trolling motor battery? Thanks,Tool
berke99
I have always used my deep cycle batteries from the boat. They last quite a while- depending on how much the lights are on, and t.v./vcr get used.
Boss Hogg
Has anybody used the gel batteries. I see them for sale for about $l50. They are the size of an RV battery
Kaz
Tool: I've got a 7x16 wheeled house and use two Interstate Deep Cycle batteries. I run lights, TV, Marine Radio and sometimes a Ham radio. They will stay up for usually a three day trip. I do have a long cord with a cig lighter plug that I can re-charge them a little, from the truck, if they go dim. If you start with a full charge you should be OK for a weekend. I would definitely go with the Deep Cycle though. Gel-Cells are very expensive and I don't think they last aqny longer...
