viking_fan
Ok these have been out for awile now and getting much better every year. But what have you noticed about using them at night?Have you been catching fish with the lights on?Or do you find that they don't want to swim in the beam of light?Myself... we have not caught one fish with the light on but it seems to attract them to the area. viking_fan
I am just wondering if I should even try to use the lights any more?

Deitz Dittrich
VikingFan-I have caught fish using the lights, but as you say its a rare thing to happen. I do use the lights to check out my surroundings, but then usually put the camera away after dark.Just my opinion!
Scumfisher
I thought the lights were in the infrared or ultraviolet spectrum and not visibly noticed by the fish. I never have used a camera, but I thought that is what I heard on a TV show.
Deitz Dittrich
Scumbag-Some of the cameras at Infrared... and some of the cameras are LED lights.. which are actuallly the same lights as what you see on key chains... The infrared lights are invisable to the eye.. however, water is an infrared filter, so infrared doesnt work all that well in water.

viking_fan
Yeah it,s on all day until night time.I have used the Infrared model at night and can see crappies if there close to my jig but I never see them with the lights. One time I was turning the light on for awhile then off, and when ever I turned it off my buddy would catch one. That worked for a few crappies then they moved on.Next week Iam getting the Marcum 560 and maybe selling the Infrared model. psegriz
I've rented these b4 to see if I wanted to buy one or not. Never bought one yet and have seen fish with the lights on lots but can't recall one biting at night. Boy you guys just opened my eyes. The whole reason I want one is to see how they would naturally react to my presentation. Mostly at night, otherwise I'm fishing out of a spearhole anyway. Iguess my use would be at night, and I don't think I expect too much but maybe I do. I woould like to see only three feet but not have anything interfere with there natural reactions. viking_fan
Don't get me wrong GRIZ !!! This is a great tool !!!! You can find the transition lines, like weed lines or sand to muck, rocks. Not to mention seeing a fishes reaction to what your doing (during the day time) I use mine all the time and I love it so much I am upgrading to the best !!! Finding a great area has never been easier
