i was wondering if anybody knows when ice fishing for trout opens up

Lakes within the BWCA, January 1st through March 31st. Lakes outside or partially outside the BWCA, January 15th through March 15th. Page 22 2004 fishing regs.

I've been going through my winter trout hardware and all I can say is Not Soon Enough!!!

Lake trout for ontario starts on Jan 1. on runs to sept.30 We are now taking reservations for our Camp Manitou resort on lower manitou lake. We have 4 housekeeping cabins open for winter. The resort is located 7 miles from main land and 1 hr. north of Fort Frances, Ont. We mainly offer lake trout, but we do have some lakes with walleye and pike in them. Outfitter17 ~ Is this the old Ted Davis camp? If so, I've been there during the winter and have done well.

No Ted's is about 7 miles up the lake from us. We are located in the stretch on an island. we park at about 21km and go across dogfly then onto manitou. It's only about 4 miles by sled to the island. We only have 4 cabins and they seem to book up pretty quickly, If you are interested let me know. As you know the lake trout fishing is awesome.

Do you go out of Crawfords? I thought I recognized your name from the crafords fishing report page. Do you just target the Lakers through the ice or do you fish the soft water also? We head up every year for the ice out Lakers. Let us know how your trip goes.
