Wayne Sieber
I hate to ask this question, but am I the only Gopher Hockey Fanatic who watches every Gopher Hockey game with the remote control firmly in hand so I can press mute when FORMER Coach Woog starts bashing on the Gophers for every (small as it may be) missed play, and totally praising our opponents for making the most basic of plays?? Why can't we get an announcer who actually appreciates and inspires people when it comes to Gopher Hockey???
Gissert
I guess I had not noticed Woog doing that. I'll watch for it now, however.Has anyone told Frank Mazzaco that he has a muskrat sleeping on his head, LOL?
buzzsaw
I think Wooger does this in part because he's heard many people call him a homer and he is trying to dispell this notion. He may be trying to hard! Be happy we don't have to listen to Saggisor every week, that would be painful!
BAIT956
The broadcasts are on Foxsports North. Most of the WCHA teams are in the FSN area. In order to retain viewership of fans of the other teams, it would not be a good idea for the announcers to be Gopher homers. Also, I have noticed that often the games produced by FSN are also broadcast on FoxSports Rocky Mountain. No doubt looking to attract DU and CC fans. It would be counterproductive for FSN's announcers to alienate these fans, especially when playing DU or CC. Although I am a diehard Gopher fan, I find the relatively unbiased approach refreshing.
