livewell in portable house

Need Ideas. Thinking of taking a 5-gallon pail in 10 inch dia. with 12 inch lip at top and drilling holes all around it. Then put in extra hole in house, lip will hold pail from sinking and drilled holes will fill it with water, instant livewell, pull out when time to go,water drains and your on your way. Any other ideas out there?

If there is more than about 8" of ice just drill another hole next to the one you fish in but don't go quite all the way through, just so the tip of your auger pokes a tiny hole in the center. Instant livewell.
