6hp outboard - what is it worth?

krats

Question

I have 2 6hp outboards that I have acquired over the last couple of years, I cannot use both, and I am thinking about selling one or the other. Can anyone help me put a value on them?

Both of them are in excellent condition and are reliable...

One of them is a 1968 Mercury 6hp Twin, and the other is a 1973 Johnson 6hp. I would lean towards keeping the Johnson for my first choice just because it is alittle lighter and I think it runs alittle quieter. Other than that I would keep either one.

Once I come up with a value, I will post them for sale. Any help would be appreciated.

I tried checking the NADA (Blue Book) HSOforum, but the oldest Mercury year that they list is 1974, and the smallest motor that they list is a 40hp. That one is valued at $80.

I'll keep an eye out for when you post one of these for sale. I'm looking to upgrade from the Sears Roebuck 7.5 hp air-cooled that I have on my 12 footer. I assume that these are both water-cooled engines?
