This could stir the pot a bit in a day or two.

Here is what I try to follow when I keep fish.

Walleye 13-18 inches

Pike 24-30 inches

Crappie 9-12 inches

Sunnies 6-8 inches

Now that's just what do. These might seem small to some but I don't keep many and when I do it's just for a meal or two.

I dont want to stir the pot or get people going. I'm just looking for a few good guidelines. I never knew what to keep when I was out in the past. It's not like I fished alot in the past to get an idea myself, but I hope that I can change that this year and fish ALOT.

Husky I dont keep Northern or Musky no matter what size. The reason for Northern is I dont like cleaning them and the taste doesnt mach up to some other fish I enjoy. Of course with Musky I dont know anyone who keeps them unless they are a trophy and usually then we just get pics.

I know a lot of people who love Northerns and thats fine I just dont think the cleaning hassle is worth it. Now big Northern threw the ice are a blast to catch either on a stick or tip up! I just CPR them. To each his own I guess.

Pretty much the same as NorthLander....no bass, no Muskie, an occassional Northern, one in the summer for smoking and that is'nt every year and a couple in the winter for pickling, again, not every year.

The only Trout/salmonoids I get through the ice are Brookies and Rainbows and I don't care to eat anything over maybe 1/2 pound.
